If you live in North Kingstown, South Kingstown, or on Block Island without a car, you could be living in a “food desert”. Nearly 50% of people in each of those places lives at least one mile from the closest grocery store (10 miles in rural locations), according to Health USDA.

On the plus side, a lot of us live near summer farmers markets.
