The South Kingstown Land Trust is beginning its 2018 once-a-month hike series on January 18, beginning at 8:30 am. The 1.26 mile trail begins at Yawgoo Pond, then takes you past a kettle hole bog, over Mud Brook, and through a grove of stately white pine trees. Yawgoo Pond Trail is also noted for its thick understory of mountain laurel, especially near the steep banks of the kettle hole, and spectacular views of pristine Yawgoo Pond. You can bring the the dog, kids, grandkids or just yourself on this guided hike.

The Land Trust suggests you check its website and Facebook page in case of foul weather on the 18th.

The Land Trust notes it will be leading a guided hike every 3rd Thursday at 8:30am at different SKLT trail heads.
