Back to School Night on the Wakefield Village Green

Fun for back-to-schoolers and their families on the Wakefield Village Green

Just because school is back in session doesn’t mean the kids (and you) can’t have a little fun!!!

South Kingstown Parks & Recreation is hosting a concert and lots more on the Village Green in Wakefield from 5-7 pm. Local band Waites Corner will be performing plus there will be children’s activities like lawn games, crafts, an inflatable bounce house, and a performance by local magician Nathan Shaw (5-5:30 pm).

There will also be free ice cream at 5:30 thanks to a generous donation from The Original Vanilla Bean in Matunuck (while supplies last), and free backpacks filled with supplies to the first 100 children in grades K-4, thanks to The Harbor Church.

The event will be moved to the Rec Center in case of rain.

25 years of outfitting back-to-schoolers

free back-to-school clothes and supplies for children starting or returning to school in the Richmond, RI area this fall

A truly remarkable tradition of providing for children and families. For 25 years, the New Hope Chapel in Carolina (next to the Washington County Fairgrounds) has been equipping back-to-schoolers with what they need to start the new year. If this applies to your family or someone you know, the details are in the picture. (25 years. Wow!)
