15 “smart” chores for kids
For the child who can’t focus, has trouble with coordination, or is sensitive to touch and smells.
Understood is an organization that focuses on youth ages 3-20 with attention and learning difficulties. Many – if not most – of their posts apply to everyone we know, youth and adults alike.
Consider Understood’s three blogs on “smart chores”. Each offers five, well, “smart” ideas for everyday chores for one, kids who don’t follow through; two, kids with balance and coordination issues; and three, kids who are hypersensitive, to smells, loud noises, etc.
The tasks can be clearing off the table, emptying the dryer, or picking up toys. Each has challenges, science, and successes.
